Report on NADRA BANK’s Corporate Social Responsibility for 2007

Every minute we work to become even better for you.

The publication of this report demonstrates NADRA BANK’s openness to dialog with the stakeholders and is one of the fundamental stages of the Bank’s development. The main task of the first social report of NADRA is an in-depth self-analysis of its activities in the sphere of corporate social responsibility from the point of view of its systemic and comprehensive nature.

The report was developed on the basis of international standards: “Sustainability Reporting Guidelines” of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI, third version – G3); Attachment to the GRI Guidelines for Financial Services Sector; UN Global Compact Principles. Pursuant to the requirements of these documents, Attachment to the Report indicates the level of application of respective standards.

For management of the process of report development, a taskforce was created comprised of representatives of all the leading departments of the Bank. The functions of the taskforce included the collection of the most complete information in accordance with the framework and system of the reporting; analysis of information from the point of view of its relevance for the Bank’s stakeholders; analysis of results of the Bank’s activities from the point of view of sustainable development.

This report reflects the results of the Bank’s work in 2007 with a focus on the main components of sustainable development – the economic, social and environmental aspects of our activities.

The report presents information about the Bank’s corporate management, the system of control of banking and operating activities, prevention of money laundering, conflict of interests management, system of risk management, etc. In the section “Economic Content of Activities’, the Bank reports on the social meaning of products and services it offers to citizens of Ukraine, volume of paid taxes, use of modern technologies, system for control and prevention of violations in the banking sphere, system of feedback and customers’ applications, the Bank’s membership in organizations important from the CSR point of view, etc.

A special section of the report contains information about the Bank’s employees; more specifically, it describes characteristics of employees broken down by age and gender, the system of payment for work and the Bank’s average salary, motivation, personnel training and development, labor safety system and collective agreement, as well as the corporate culture. In the section “Social and Charity Programs”, the Bank reports on the initial results of the long-term social program “Healthy Children in a Happy Country “, which is being implemented jointly with the “Children’s World” Fund founded by NADRA BANK, and on a number of other sponsorship and charity projects. In the section “Environmental Responsibility”, the Bank reports on the “Green Office” Program being implemented in all its offices and is aimed at reducing the impact on the environment.

Voluntary regular reporting on corporate social responsibility makes it possible for the Bank not only to take into consideration the needs and expectations of its stakeholders, but also to improve its activities, since NADRA BANK plans to continue presenting such reports to the stakeholders in the future.

We hope that our annual reports on corporate social responsibility will be supported by other Ukrainian banks and will become a norm in due time, since responsible business is a precondition for the sustainable development of the whole society.
